Predictors of Huntington’s Disease (Predict HD & Enrol HD) & Member of the International
Huntington Disease Study Group.Neurosciences Unit. (From 2002 to 2017). The Predict HD & Enroll-HD research
programme is a coordinated worldwide effort by approximately 45 Huntington
Study Group (HSG) research centres to collect ongoing information from
individuals who are affected by HD. The HSG is collecting this information in
order to learn more about HD, potential treatments, and to plan future research
studies of experimental drugs aimed at postponing the onset or slowing the

In 2011/12 Dr Pestell was the WA site Neuropsychologist for an international 'Cool Kids' research study clinical trial of moderate hypothermia as a treatment following severe traumatic brain injury in children as part of the Pediatric Traumatic Brain Injury Consortium (PTBIC).
Dr Pestell was also the WA site Neuropsychologist for the HitBIC Hypothermia in Traumatic Brain Injury in Children Research Trial which operates in Australia and New Zealand. Hypothermia in Traumatic Brain Injury in Children Pilot Study (ClinicalTrials.gov Number NCT00282269). A multi-centre prospective randomised controlled trial of early prolonged hypothermia therapy in children with traumatic brain injury.
